The Pytchley Hunt Club was formed in 1750 near the Northamptonshire village of Pytchley in England; and it is still a vibrant and viable hunt club to this day covering an area of western and central Northamptonshire characterized by rolling hills, hedgerows and small areas of woodland.
With the hunt as their inspiration, the Pytchley brand similar to Harris Tweed in that they manufacture products for resellers to private label. Using mostly melton wool of the highest quality and their trademark fox-head buttons, the majority of the Pytchley jackets on the market are vintage although you can still buy new Pytchley riding apparel in Europe, primarily the United Kingdom. This fabulous riding jacket was made for Philips & Piper Country Clothes, Ltd and distributed by Service Riding Apparel, Ltd, in Yonkers NY. Pinstripe Navy melton wool with navy fox button front, front flap welt pockets, acetate lining, rear riding flap, high notched collar, structured shoulders, single button cuffs, tailored seams, excellent condition, no marked size but measures like a size 36R, or 6 US. C 1980s, made in England.
